Based in Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, we came together because we believed career development in Aotearoa New Zealand could be better. As experienced practitioners, volunteers, and industry leaders, we saw the need for evidence-informed change and a stronger commitment to helping people navigate increasingly complex career journeys.
In 2018, we founded The Career Development Company (The CDC) to make a difference. United by a belief that career development is a lifelong process and a social justice issue, we set out to design practical, people-centred solutions that help individuals and organisations thrive in a changing world.
Today, we combine our collective expertise, real-world experience, and passion for positive change to support career seekers, changers, and practitioners, and organisations and leaders. Through our Career Wayfinding RECI® model and the real stories of real people finding their way, we share a simple but powerful message: everyone deserves the opportunity to create a meaningful future.
Career stories are always changing and developing. Wayfinding is how we navigate. We think of The Career Development Company as our waka. The map below is designed with shared exploring in mind.
